Begin by walking through the Fern Dell and past Quarry Lake. Enjoy the tranquility of the AIDS Memorial Grove. See the lawn bowling greens and "Hippie Hill" in Sharon Meadows. Those who wish may end the walk at the Children IS Playground. Otherwise, return to the Conservatory past the tennis courts. View the Dahlia Garden in full bloom. 10 am Wednesday, September 15th North Lake Meet at the parking area near the 43rd Avenue & Fulton entrance to the Park. Explore North Lake, circling the west side, observe bison in their paddock, visit the Anglers' casting pools and return on the east side of North Lake. Return to the parking area. 10 am Wednesday, October 6th Stow Lake Meet at the front entrance to the Stow Lake Boat House. Saunter around Stow Lake, exploring the Roman & Rustic Bridges, Huntington Falls, Golden Gate Pavilion, and Strawberry Hill Island. Return to the Boat House. 10 am Wednesday, November 3rd Heroines & Heroes Meet at the Pioneer Women Monument located off John F. Kennedy (JFK) Drive, east of the road to Stow Lake Starting at the Pioneer Women Monument, stroll through the Rose Garden and Heroes Grove, and then on to the Mothers' Meadow and Playground. Those who wish may end the Walk at the Playground. Otherwise, return to the Pioneer Women Monument. |
