Join City Guides at the SF Main Library for an "armchair walk" of the Palace Hotel. Majestic. Spectacular. Words fail to convey the extraordinary beauty of the elegantly restored Palace. See this 1909 Beaux Arts gem for yourself, and discover why it's consistently ranked as one of the top luxury hotels in the world. NOTE: NOT A WALKING TOUR, AND NOT AT THE HOTEL.
See the "Notes" section for details.

CITY GUIDES' FIRST & ONLY "ARMCHAIR WALK" SUBSTITUTING FOR A WALKING TOUR! The venerable Palace Hotel will undergo extensive renovations in 2015, and as a result, no walking tours of the hotel can be offered.
However, we are delighted to offer a unique alternative: an "Armchair Walk" in the Koret Auditorium at the Main Library! On the first Monday of each month, starting at 2:00 PM, enjoy a "tour" from the comfort of your seat.
This tour is also scheduled on those dates in the calendar below (after the map) where the tour time
is indicated (in red). You can advance to future months by clicking the >> symbol in the calendar
Meet in the KORET AUDITORIUM at the MAIN LIBRARY (100 Larkin Street), in Civic Center. The auditorium is on the Lower Level.
The library's Grove Street entrance is across the street from the BART/Muni Civic Center Station, and just steps from Market Street buses and streetcars. Plus, the northbound and southbound #19/Polk buses stop at the Main Library.
This tour is offered all year
