Please Note:

Our free (donations welcome!), regularly scheduled tours are open to the public but NOT open to parties of 8 or more. If you plan to bring 8 or more walkers to a regular tour, please click here for more information on booking private group tours.

Understand the history and development of the South of Market area (SoMa), from the earliest rough neighborhoods called "South of the Slot" to the family-friendly environment that is today's Yerba Buena Gardens complex. View an exciting variety of buildings and architectural styles, including an historic church, posh hotels, and the highest concentration of museums in the city. Learn to look at this neighborhood with a new eye. Even people familiar with the area will discover beautiful gardens and unique sculptures that are "hidden in plain sight."
