City Front: Tides of Change is a six-mile extended walking tour exploring San Francisco's evolving waterfront. This trek along the shoreline and into nearby neighborhoods travels from the site of 19th Century woolen mills near Aquatic Park, all the way to the former industrial zone of Dogpatch, a neighborhood that’s now undergoing a residential resurgence.
Two dozen of our expert volunteer guides will lead you and share the stories behind the waterfront’s evolution and how that transformed sleepy Yerba Buena into modern San Francisco – and continue today.
Along the way you’ll learn:
Because our 40th Anniversary Megatour last year was a sellout, we’ve expanded this year’s event to accommodate even more walkers. We’ll even provide lunch – all you provide are comfortable walking shoes (and, please, dress in layers as we will pass through many of SF's famed micro-climates).Sign up now and discover a whole new side of The City you didn't know! Note that once tickets go on sale, due to the nature of this event, refunds unfortunately cannot be issued.
